Since before time began God ordained an intimate relationship between BLOOD and LIFE. This relationship was all a part of God’s eternal plan for the salvation of mankind, driven by His great love for His creation. However, that relationship did not involve just any blood. It was based on the Blood of the only Perfect, Sinless, Guiltless man who ever set foot on this earth, Jesus Christ; who freely shed His Blood during a horrendous death by crucifixion. This was all a part of the Father’s plan for our salvation.
“WONDER WORKING POWER!” In Scripture the word “wonder” is also translated Amazement, Astonishment, and Marvel. All three terms involve the production of a SUDDEN, PROFOUND EFFECT. Therefore; The Power found in the Blood of the Lamb is not only more than any man’s reasoning can grasp, but it is able to PROVIDE and WORK WONDERS.
“There’s wonderful power in the blood. There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb; There is power, power wonder working power, in the precious blood of the Lamb.”
The Bible reveals just how powerful that precious blood is in several passages, using many different terms and concepts:
1-That BLOOD can purchase our REDEMPTION. “Knowing that you were not REDEEMED with perishable things like silver or gold, from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, but with PRECIOUS BLOOD as of a LAMB unblemished and spotless, the BLOOD of CHRIST”. (I Peter 1:18-19).
2-That blood and His GRACE provides us FORGIVENESS for every SIN we have committed. “In HIM we have REDEMPTION through His BLOOD, the FORGIVENESS of SINS, according to the RICHES of HIS GRACE”. (EPH 1:7).
3-With His SHED BLOOD, CHRIST can APPEASE the WRATH that God feels toward us because of our sins. Scripture refers to this as a PROPITIATION for those SINS. “Therefore, in ALL THINGS, HE had to be made like His BRETHREN, that He might be a MERCIFUL and FAITHFUL HIGH PRIEST in things pertaining to GOD, to make PROPITIATION for the SINS of the people”. (Heb 2:17).
4-The crimson flow of BLOOD from the cross at Calvary will CLEANSE our conscience from dead works so that we may serve the only TRUE and LIVING GOD. “For if the BLOOD of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling those who had been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, How Much More will the BLOOD of CHRIST who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT OFFERED HIMSELF WTHOUT BLEMISH TO GOD, Cleanse YOUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS to SERVE THE LIVING GOD”. (Heb 9:13-14).
5-Not Only does that WONDER WORKING POWER found in the BLOOD of CHRIST Cleanse us from EVERY STAIN, it also puts us in FELLOWSHIP with other BELIEVERS who have taken advantage of its POWER. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have FELLOWSHIP with one another, and the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSES us from ALL SIN.” (I Jn 1:7).
6-The BLOOD that Jesus shed on the CROSS of CALVARY MAKES ATONEMENT for our SINS and RECONCILES US TO OUR GOD. We create a problem when Our SINS SEPARATE US FROM GOD. “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that It cannot SAVE; nor is His ear so dull that He cannot HEAR. But your INIQUITIES have MADE A SEPARATION between YOU and YOUR GOD; and YOUR SINS have hidden HIS FACE from you so that HE DOES NOT HEAR”! (Isaiah59:1-2).
Hence, The BLAME is on US. OUR OWN SINS have SEPARATED US from God. The situation must be REPAIRED and CORRECTED, but we cannot accomplish that ourselves. Our lost souls need reconciling to GOD ALMIGHTY and we need to make AMENDS for those SINS to HIM. In Scripture, the word “ATONE” means TO BECOME RECONCILED or MAKE AMENDS FOR WRONGDOING. ATONEMENT then, is the RECONCILLATION of God and Man through the SHED BLOOD and SACRIFICIAL DEATH of Jesus Christ on the OLD RUGGED CROSS.
Under the OLD LAW, The act of ATONEMENT and RECONCILLIATION TO GOD Was accomplished by BLOOD – the BLOOD of sacrificial animals. “For the LIFE of the FLESH is in the BLOOD, and I have given it to you upon the ALTAR to make ATONEMENT for your SOULS; for it is the BLOOD that makes ATONEMENT for the SOUL”. (Lev. 17:11).
7-The BLOOD of our SAVIOR INAUGURATED a NEW COVENANT between GOD and His CHILDREN. The BLOOD of bulls and goats brought in the OLD COVENANT. However, The Old Covenant/Old Law/Law of Moses was done away with or NAILED TO THE CROSS when Jesus died at Calvary. “Therefore, not even the First Covenant was dedicated without BLOOD”. (Heb 9:18). Nevertheless, The NEW COVENANT required a much greater SACRIFICE than the OLD.
“How much more shall the BLOOD of CHRIST, who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT OFFERED HIMSELF WITHOUT SPOT TO GOD, CLEANSE YOUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS TO SERVE THE LIVING GOD? And for this reason, He is the MEDIATOR of a NEW COVENANT by MEANS of DEATH, for the REDEMPTION OF THE TRANSGRESSIONS UNDER THE FIRST COVENANT, THAT THOSE WHO ARE CALLED MAY RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF THE ETERNAL INHERITANCE”. (Heb 9:14-15). In Col 1:17-23, The HOLY SPIRIT guides Paul to write a very succinct listing of the BLESSINGS given to us through the BLOOD of CHRIST: He is the HEAD of the BODY/the CHURCH; RECONCILLIATION to THE FATHER; PEACE; PREPARATION for PRESENTATION to GOD as People who are HOLY, BLAMELESS, and BEYOND REPROACH. We have these BLESSINGS ALWAYS ONLY IF WE CONTINUE in the FAITH, FIRMLY ESTABLISHED, STEADFAST, and NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL!”
We praise God for His LOVE, FAITHFULNESS, and STEADFASTNESS Toward us as His CHILDREN. LET us DEMONSTRATE our LOVE, FAITHFULNESS, and STEADFASTNESS TOWARD HIM as OBEDIENT CHILDREN on a DAILY BASIS!

There’s POW’R in the BLOOD, POW’R in the BLOOD;WOULD YOU LIVE DAILY HIS PRAISES TO SING? THERE’S WONDERFUL POW’R in the BLOOD
